| Notes |
- Judith was one of the earliest among the women of Shearith Israel to make a name for herself in the service of New York city. As head of the Ward Girls School No. 10 on James Street, she was the first Jewish principal of a public school in the city. The New York Sun in its issue of 15 April 1850 called her "a thorough scholar and teacher" and spoke of "the great excellence of her classes".
