| Notes |
- Per Joanie Winkleman Silar (Oct. 2003): "Aunt Tillie lived on the other side of the Park St block in a small house. I used to roller skate around the block and often stopped to see her. Supposedly she was on the road as a salesperson way back when and Edna Ferber used her as a character in a novel. Cannot remember which novel at the moment. Also, I was told that Edna Ferber was born in Kazoo on Park St, but that her parents moved when she was very young. All of this could be urban legend, but one never knows. Aunt Tillie was a first cousin, her mother was one of Groma's sisters. For several years after her divorce from Seligman, she traveled on the road for the Henrietta Skirt Co. Her brother Jake was married to Leah and they lived (sorry cannot remember the street name) in Kazoo. I think he was a candy salesman because they always had lots of candy at there house." [1]
